Temperature Rise Characteristics and Error Analysis of a DC Voltage Divider

Measurement accuracy is an important performance indicator for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) voltage dividers. The temperature rise effect a HVDC divider’s internal resistance has adverse on measurement accuracy. In this paper, by building solid model of DC divider, the characteristic and error caused in divider were theoretically simulated. We found that with increase height working time, increased. results also showed lowest was near lower flange highest upper middle divider. increased first then decreased gradually height, increasing its time. difference steady state reached maximum 158.4 ppm. This study provides theoretical basis to determine structure improvement resistive which helpful selection components optimization heat dissipation structure.
